Crescent Med is looking for an Industrial Design intern to be part of the product development team to create the World's first wearable dual-camera headband system for surgeons.

Duration: Minimum 3 months

Crescent Med is all about creating simple yet innovative hardware and software solutions. We believe that technology should do the heavy lifting and that tech should assist the user without adding necessary burdens or distractions to the user. Since 2017 Crescent Med has been hard at work developing an innovative headcam and live streaming that aims to digitalise the outdated surgical apprenticeship method.

To achieve this Crescent Med is looking for an Industrial Design intern who will help strengthen our product development team and co-design and build the world’s first purpose designed wearable dual-camera headband system for medical education and telemedicine.


What will you do? 

As an industrial designer, you will be involved in every step from brainstorming about ideas and prototyping to production.

Depending on your background and field of interest, your role will focus on:

  • Setting up production, assembly and quality assurance of the headcam system

  • Redesign and optimisation of our 3D model for modularity and usability; Rapid prototyping, using our 3D printer, to perform user tests with surgeons;

  • UX and UI design of the ‘plug&play system’ and control panel;

  • (Medical) rules and regulations, design controls and risk management.

What do we ask?

 We’re looking for an individual who: 

  • studies Industrial design (IPD, DFI, SPD, IPO) or similar;

  • is 3-5 days per week available for at least 3 months;

  • is passionate and optimistic about technology and/or healthcare;

  • is a responsible team player with a proactive mindset and has the courage to experiment, fail, learn and try again.
